NodeJoe becomes an ACAP

Great news for everybody: NodeJoe has become an 'Autodesk Certified Animation Plug-in'!

From now on, you can get NodeJoe directly from TurboSquid or, of course from the Autodesk reseller of your choice.

We must admit that we are a little proud of this - so read, what TurboSquid writes about it:
TurboSquid offers the following premium 3ds Max plug-ins from creative developers around the globe. These plug-ins are subjected to stringent testing procedures defined by the Autodesk Media and Entertainment division to ensure each plug-in works well with 3ds Max and other Autodesk Certified Animation Plug-ins. Only plug-ins that pass the testing process are eligible to use the "Autodesk Certified Animation Plug-in" branding.

The official press release from TurboSquid can be found here.

So jump to TurboSquid and grab your copy today ;)

23.10.2008 | NodeJoe 1.1 Update

NodeJoe v1.1

After a long busy time working on NodeJoe, the Apes are finally back with some great news:
We proudly announce the new 1.1 version of NodeJoe, the schematic material editor for 3dsmax.

The update contains a lot of useful features, which will speed up your workflow in NodeJoe like e.g. the possibility of inserting a node into existing connections.

New Features of the 1.1:

  • Undo/Redo for Nodes / Edges
  • Insert node into existing connections
  • Detach node from existing connections / Pass through edge
  • MultiSub Material Count Option in the NodeJoe options dialog
  • Image file drag&drop from the windows explorer is now possible -> a bitmap node will be created
  • Linking from Insocket to the NodeHeader is possible (you don't need to use the Outsocket of the other node)
  • The "Zoom Extents selected" option now zooms to the extents of the entire nodeview if you use it with nothing selected
  • DirectXShader Rollout is now displayed within the parameters editor
  • During saving NodeJoe now prints nothing to the MaxScript Listener anymore
  • Left mouse drag on a nodeview tab for changing the order of the views
  • "Select By Material" option also available through the nodes context menu
  • Preview rendering handling was improved, if you force an update manually NodeJoe will render the preview no matter if the global rendering is on or off
  • You can define an application for editing your bitmaps linked to a bitmap node
  • Miscellaneous bug fixes

Thanks to all who helped and supported us with ideas, reports and testing. :)
Thanks to Thorsten Hartmann for the car-rendering.

If there is still anyone out there who isn't aware of NodeJoe ;) have a look on our NodeJoe website www.nodejoe.net

There you can find further information, comments, a full feature list, browse the NodeJoe forum, view online video tutorials, etc.

29.07.2008 | NodeJoe – the schematic material editor for 3dsmax

Hi fellows,

two of the greatest events for everyone who is interested in computer graphics are right around the corner, the SIGGRAPH in LA and the GAMES CONVENTION in Leipzig, Germany.

Since we are not there to shake hands and spread some ball-pens along with a NodeJoe-Demo-CD, we would like to give you a special SIGGRAPH / GC discount of 20%.

For those of you who aren't aware of NodeJoe,
NodeJoe is a schematic material editor plugin for 3dsmax, that allows you a graphical composition of shader trees with a complete overview of the tree and direct access to the single textures / submaterials.

This helps you to make your work with material trees simpler, clearer and faster.
NodeJoe provides a much more intuitive and creative workflow compared to the common 3dsmax material editor.

If you don't know the advantages of an node based editor yet, have a try with the free 30 days demo version of NodeJoe.

If you already know NodeJoe and maybe tinkered with the idea of extending your 3dsmax workflow with a node based material editor, we would like to invite you to our SIGGRAPH / GAMES CONVENTION – special offer!

For every single seat license of NodeJoe you'll get a 20% discount.*

*this offer starts with the first of August and is valid until the middle of September 2008.
